ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήI am Greek but only learned Greek at the age of 22 in 1962 when I came to live in my homeland and fell in love with Greece not only because of the landscape but the architecture of the old houses the old people I met in the villages the cafeneion with their wooden chairs the cafedaki and glyko tou koutaliou and so many traditions which alas hardly exist anymore .
Mass tourism and mass media have destroyed our roots and the younger generations ( I am 72 ) feel emancipated or modern when they forget or do not wish to abide to the past of their parents and grandparents .
Sorry if I write in English but I do read Greek and read Parapona Rodou some times very interesting articles but I do not agree with the vocabulary some of you use when you do not agree and wish to ad a comment .
